Where to Enjoy Fourth of July Festivities in Marin

Local Parades

Bolinas 

The annual parade is back with fan-favorite festivities, including the annual Bolinas–Stinson Beach tug-of-war over the channel that separates the two towns. 

Corte Madera/Larkspur 

Starting at 10:30 a.m. from Redwood High School, the parade heads down Magnolia Avenue and into Corte Madera to the Town Center mall. A celebration at Corte Madera Town Park, with arts and crafts vendors, food, carnival games and more. The entertainment runs from 1–4:30 p.m., and you can even opt to enjoy a pancake breakfast at the start of your long day from 8–11 a.m. at 500 Magnolia Ave. 

Novato 

The annual Buckaroo Breakfast lasts from 7–10 a.m. The parade starts at 10 a.m. in the city’s Old Town district at the corner of Grant and Railroad avenues and continues toward Seventh Street. The procession includes more than 100 entries including classic cars, floats, Irish bagpipers and a Chinese bell and drum corp. 

Ross 

Parade begins at 10 a.m, with floats featuring everything from Ross PD, Fire, furry friends, members of the Ross Town Council and more. Complimentary popcorn and free hotdogs are provided and plenty of other options are available for purchase, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. 

Sausalito 

The parade begins at 10 a.m. in Old Town and continues down Bridgeway to Caledonia Street, ending at Dunphy Park, where a town picnic features food, entertainment, raffles, the annual tug-of-war and an egg toss. And don’t forget to stay past dark to watch the fireworks show starting at around 9:15 p.m.

Light Shows

Marin County Fair (San Rafael) 

This impressive display is launched every night of the fair from three barges on the lagoon. The fireworks, including crowd favorites Whistling Dixie, the Americana and the Golden Eagle, are choreographed to music (July 2–6, 9:30 p.m.). 

Dunphy Park (Sausalito) 

The party starts at 6:30 p.m. with music by Top Shelf Classics and fireworks flying at 9:15 p.m.; best vantage points are the Spinnaker, Dunphy Park and Gabrielson Park (July 4, 9:15 p.m.). 

The Waterfront (San Francisco) 

Watch the 9:30 p.m. fireworks show from Aquatic Park at Jefferson and Hyde streets, the Cannery, Coit Tower, Ghirardelli Square or other spots along Fisherman’s Wharf (July 4, 9:30 p.m.).
