Local nonprofit The Redwoods hosted their annual An Evening Celebrating Our Community at their senior living center in Mill Valley on October 23 to raise funds in support of their mission. The 170 guests included: Grace Hughes; Dennis Fisco; The Kaliski Family; Damon Connolly; Lynn Woolsey; Mill Valley Mayor Stehen Burke; Vera and Ken Meislin; Betsey Cutler; Claire McAuliff; Mary Alice; and Paul Kirincic.
A cocktail reception and music by The Larry Moss Trio set the ambience before jumping into the dinner and evening program, which featured a special acoustic performance. The $400,000 raised from the event will go towards The Redwoods Endowment and Legacy Giving Campaign, which CEO Kyle Ruth-Islas, family member Rebecca Wara and Board Member and Mill Valley City Council Member Caroline Joachim spoke on further.
“Driven by purpose, sustained by community, a place where our elders — regardless of their wealth or circumstance — always have access to the dignity, support and care they deserve,” Joachim said. “Tonight, I invite you to help keep this promise alive.”
Harbor Point Charitable Foundation and Unidine sponsored the evening.
