AUBREE HILL | EXHALE HOUSE
Beauty Without Compromise

Aubree Hill, founder and lead stylist of Exhale House in Mill Valley, did not set out to open another salon, she set out to change the experience women had been taught to accept. For years, she had watched it quietly take hold.
Women who were capable, accomplished, and outwardly confident… quietly consumed by their hair.
The constant awareness. The adjusting. The negotiation. The low-grade distraction that followed them into rooms where their attention belonged elsewhere.
Over time, it becomes a compromise, one women are expected to live with. Exhale House was built in refusal of that.
A space where a woman can sit down, exhale, and know she no longer has to manage, question, or work around her hair.
With more than two decades of experience, Aubree’s work centers on precision, restraint, and integrity. Specializing in Great Length ® keratin bond extensions, each installation is designed to be seamless, undetectable, and aligned with long-term hair and scalp health. Ethically sourced and built to integrate effortlessly into daily life.
Not to be noticed. To be lived in.
Women don’t leave transformed.
They leave unburdened and able to move through the world as themselves, without compromise.

DR. AHNEE MIN-YAU
DACM, L.Ac., Founder, Tao Natural Skincare

Dr. Ahnee Min believes that true beauty starts from within. Her approach to skincare is rooted in the philosophy that lasting, radiant skin comes from balance — supporting the body as a whole, not just treating surface-level concerns.
As a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, she takes an integrative approach that addresses the deeper drivers of skin health, including hormonal balance, nutrition, stress, and lifestyle. The result is healthier skin and improved overall well-being. Her most sought-after treatments include cosmetic acupuncture, gua sha and cupping, micro-needling for acne and hyperpigmentation, and her signature Korean glass-skin facial. Each treatment is designed to restore glow, refine texture, and support graceful aging — naturally. She also guides patients on simple, foundational skincare routines and incorporates advanced K-beauty products — like exosomes, PDRN, and specialized serums — to support and maintain results at home.

FACE FOUNDRIÉ
Facials, Brows, and Lashes

Heidi and Hayley Jacquin discovered FACE FOUNDRIÉ focused facial bar during a trip to Minnesota in 2021. At age 22, Hayley wanted to make facials part of her beauty and self care routine, but she wanted an accessible facial that didn’t require too much time or undressing.
FACE FOUNDRIÉ’S open concept, value pricing and “facials for all skin types” was just the experience she was looking for. Hayley then introduced the concept to mom Heidi and the duo decided to bring the concept home to the Bay Area. Hayley graduated college in 2024 and went to operations training the same week.

Southern Marin Dermatology
Marin’s Premiere Comprehensive Dermatology Practice

Southern Marin Dermatology was founded on a simple but ambitious premise: if the ideal dermatology experience doesn’t exist, build it! Co-founded by Dr. Ashley Smith in 2013, the practice has expanded thoughtfully, welcoming like-minded clinicians who share a commitment to raising the standard of care.
SMD has cultivated something rare: a team of accomplished women who practice together, driven by a belief that collaboration sharpens excellence. The practice is a collective of six highly accomplished clinicians — three physicians and three physician assistants — whose individual mastery is elevated through shared purpose. They are supported by an expert laser nurse and esthetician, resulting in truly comprehensive dermatology.
Fellowship training in cosmetic dermatologic surgery (including upper eyelid lifts), as well as Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology, anchors the practice in advanced techniques, while additional specialties span hair loss, complex skin disorders, acne, aesthetics, and esthetician services.
It is not just the caliber of its clinicians, but the way they work together that makes the practice so special. Clinical decisions are informed by ongoing dialogue, shared case reviews, and a culture that values intellectual humility as much as expertise.
From advanced biologic therapies to high-risk skin cancer care to nuanced cosmetic treatments, care is grounded in evidence and refined through experience. The result is an ideal patient experience, designed and delivered by women to feel as nurturing and welcoming as it is technologically sophisticated.

KIDS OUTDOOR SPORTS CAMP
Inspiring the Next Generation

Judy Oswald is the founder of Kids Outdoor Sports Camp (KOSC), a program shaping the next generation of outdoor and conservation leaders. Since launching the camp in 1998, Judy has dedicated herself to creating meaningful, hands-on experiences that reconnect young people with the natural world.
Inspired by her role as a grandmother and her own rural upbringing, Judy recognized a growing disconnect between children and the outdoors.
Determined to bridge that gap, she spent time researching and developing a program rooted in education, responsibility, and real-world experience.
At KOSC, campers learn far more than outdoor skills. They gain an understanding of conservation, wildlife stewardship, and environmental responsibility while building confidence, independence, and resilience.
Through immersive, screen-free experiences, they form lasting friendships and develop a deeper appreciation for the world around them.
What began as a personal effort to enrich her grandchildren’s lives has evolved into a respected and impactful program serving youth across the region. Judy’s vision continues to inspire young people to step outside, engage with their environment, and carry forward a lifelong respect for nature. Through KOSC, she has created more than a camp — she has built a legacy that will influence generations to come. Her work stands as a powerful reminder that one idea, rooted in purpose, can create lasting change.

MARJORIE MCMORRIS
From Two Students to a Movement

When Marjorie McMorris’s son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at age two, she searched for answers. What she found was fragmented programs that addressed pieces of a child rather than the whole person. Her years in Human Resources at Goldman Sachs had taught her to see potential in people and build around it. She brought that same conviction to her son’s path. What she found fell far short. So, she decided to build it herself.
In 2014, Marjorie founded The Helix School in San Rafael with two students. Today, it serves 60 students and has touched the lives of more than 100 students across the Bay Area. At its heart is a deeply integrated team of teachers, aides, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavioral and mental health specialists who plan together, share classrooms, and meet regularly to ensure every student’s program evolves. For many Bay Area families, it is the place where they can finally exhale.
But another problem was coming into focus. In the world of neurodivergent services, turning 22 means something specific: school-based support ends. Families call it “the Cliff.”
This fall, The Helix Adult Academy opens in San Rafael, offering neurodivergent adults 22 and older real-world skills, creative expression, workforce preparation, and community.
The Helix School built the foundation. The Helix Adult Academy is what comes next.

MIRANDA MAAS
Making Diving Accessible to Everyone

Big life moments can reshape how we see the world. But for Dive Lab owner Miranda Maas, returning to the pool deck after the birth of her second daughter reaffirmed what she’s believed all along: diving should be for everyone.
Since founding Dive Lab, Maas has focused on making the sport more accessible and less exclusive. “Diving doesn’t just have to exist at the club or elite level,” she says. “And honestly, it shouldn’t.” Her next goal is to launch a Marin-based youth diving league — an affordable, community-centered program in partnership with local schools and after-school organizations. As excitement builds ahead of the upcoming Olympics, Maas is inviting community members, schools, and sponsors to help bring this vision to life.
For Maas, the value of sport extends far beyond competition. “Happy and healthy athletes have the most success, in and out of the pool,” she says. “ They’re the ones who go on to change the world.” At Dive Lab, each practice builds confidence, connection, and a lifelong love of sport.

HOT YOGA REPUBLIC
You Will Be Transformed

We know you’re scared, we were scared at one time too.
You’ve heard the sanitized humidity + heat at Hot Yoga Republic is intense. It is — and that’s the point.
Heat gets your muscles loose, your heart pumping, and your excuses out of the way.
Hot Yoga Republic is not spa day. It’s strength training in a sauna, it’s “mindset therapy” with a mic’d-up coach who means it. It’s a full-body wake-up call with bass drops that make quitting impossible.
At Hot Yoga Republic, you’ll shake, you’ll swear, and you’ll leave feeling like a legend.
We don’t whisper affirmations. We blast beats, drop squats, and push past limits. It’s not about being perfect — it’s about showing up, staying in it, and surprising the hell out of yourself.
This is where you stop playing it safe and start leveling up.
No fluff. No filters.
Just you vs. you…and you’re about to win.

AESTHETIC CATERING & GATHERING PROVISIONS
Women at the Table

Founded by Fairfax resident Dina Berkhout, Siren Sisters Kitchen is a women-owned catering studio and storefront in downtown Fairfax, offering full-service events and thoughtfully packaged, carry-out catering. The name nods to Berkhout’s years cooking on islands and aboard tall ships across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Great Lakes — adventures that shaped her intuitive, artful approach to food and hospitality.
The shop serves as a seamless extension of the catering kitchen — stocked with house-made soups and stews, grazing components, and prepared foods that make it easy to pull together anything from a weeknight meal to an impromptu gathering.
Siren Sisters’ catering is visual and design-driven, known for abundant grazing tables, layered florals, small bites, buffets, and family-style meals that serve as both food and focal point. Behind the scenes is a collective of women from diverse backgrounds — a close-knit sisterhood whose laid-back, joyful energy sets the tone. Owner-run and deeply hands-on, the team keeps quality tight and spirits high. The kitchen is anchored by Head Chef Carla Corona, a Chicago native whose career spans pastry to executive chef roles across major cities, bringing both range and precision to the work.
Menus draw from Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences, grounded in California’s seasonal abundance.
The Fairfax storefront carries that same spirit — compact, relaxed, and community-minded — offering small-batch, scratch-made meals and ready-to-serve platters that bring the Siren Sisters aesthetic home.

J VINEYARDS & WINERY
Elevating Wine. Empowering Women.

At J Vineyards, Estate Director Nicole Hitchcock brings a forward-looking spirit to a winery rooted in legacy. Her 25-plus years in wine — from early days on restaurant floors in Carmel-by-the-Sea, to harvests across California and Western Australia, and an internship in Italy — have shaped an instinct for evolving tradition with intention.
Since joining J in 2015, nearly three decades after its founding in 1986, Nicole has crafted expressive still and sparkling wines defined by precision, balance, and what she calls their “unapologetically California” energy — an approach that earned her Wine Enthusiast’s 2022 Winemaker of the Year award.
As J celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, Nicole stewards a women-led estate into its next era. Her leadership champions a culture where creativity rises from collaboration and where ideas — like great wines — are given space to grow. That philosophy inspires distinct experiences at J such as the Bubble Room’s seasonal food-and-wine explorations and the Shifting the Lens chef residency series. It also drives partnerships that spotlight women redefining their fields, including J’s LOVE wine made in collaboration with grantLOVE and its role as the Official Sparkling Wine of the Golden State Valkyries.
By elevating diverse voices and mentoring the next generation, Nicole is shaping a future where more women lead with confidence — and transform tradition along the way.

POSTPARTUM SUPPORT CENTER
A Vision of Care

Seven years ago, a bold vision took shape in Marin, born from a mother’s lived experience and the realization that too many parents were navigating early parenthood alone, without the care and support they needed.
Under the leadership of Ivana Jagodic, the PPSC has become a lifeline for mothers, fathers, and children, offering not only services, but a place to be seen, heard, and held. Guided by a board chaired by Dr. LeeAnn Bartolini, the organization continues to redefine how care reaches families. With Clara Love leading maternal mental health programs, families receive peer support, prevention, lactation guidance, a volunteer doula program, and essential supplies through the Marin Diaper Bank, led by Erika Hart. PPSC is built on one belief: every family deserves support, dignity, and care.
Our programs prevent postpartum depression, improve birth outcomes, and strengthen early child development.
Join us at Walk for Moms on May 17th at 3pm, at Lagoon Island at Civic Center and help sustain this essential work.

SKELLY WINGARD, RN, MSN, PHN
CEO, By the Bay Health

Since becoming CEO of By the Bay Health in 2024, Skelly Wingard has transformed Marin’s first and oldest hospice into the largest independent nonprofit hospice and palliative care provider in Northern California. In the past year By the Bay Health served more than 4,000 adults on hospice care, 200 palliative care patients, 100 children and their families, and more than 1,000 grief counseling services to local Bay Area communities. Supported by the generosity of donors in Marin, more than 700 grants for family caregivers totaling $4 million dollars were invested into the local community.
In 2025 By the Bay Health launched an innovative response to one of healthcare’s most pressing challenges – a serious shortage of nurses. The Bay Area currently faces a 26% nursing shortage, particularly affecting the most vulnerable dependent on hospice, palliative, and home-based care. Wingard credits the exceptional team of clinical women leaders at By the Bay Health with developing the groundbreaking Pathways to Care Careers initiative, designed to build a sustainable, community-supported healthcare workforce.

DORMAN ASSOCIATES
Designing What Matters Most

At Dorman Associates, we believe the best buildings start with the best conversations. For 25 years, our Mill Valley studio has designed homes, schools, and gathering places across the Bay Area — spaces rooted in how people live, learn, and come together. That spirit lives in the three senior project managers who lead our core studios.
Andrea Montalbano is a licensed architect who joined in 2022 to lead our residential practice. From custom homes to remodels and affordable housing, she brings a genuine feel for how families use their spaces and a knack for balancing big ideas with everyday livability.
Mary Peterson has been part of the Dorman team since 2007. With a background in interior architecture and design, she leads our hospitality work. Her eye for detail and ability to connect with each client’s vision have shaped some of the firm’s most rewarding projects, including the Watershed in the Mill Valley Lumber Yard and the recent remodel of Piatti Restaurant in Strawberry.
Ava Rahimi Farab leads the Education and Early Childhood Studio at Dorman Associates, designing childcare environments across Marin County, including Horizon Community School and North Bay Children’s Center. Rooted in autism sensory research at the University of Michigan, her human-centered approach shapes every project. She also consults for LIIF on childcare initiatives throughout the Bay Area.
We’d love to talk about your next project.

STACEY DILLON

With more than 22 years designing and planning events, Stacey leads 38north Design Co., a women-owned, award-winning studio known for creating meaningful, beautifully executed celebrations. Being a mom of three is central to her life; following the January passing of her husband, Ian Dillon, Stacey is leaning into being there for her children while also running a small business to support her family.
“I’m so grateful to be living and working in such an amazing community,” Stacey says. “I had a wild idea to move to Marin County, and every day I’m thankful I listened to my inner voice.”
That instinct — paired with meticulous listening to clients and a talent for translating needs into thoughtful design — is why 38north earns recognition year after year.
Stacey hopes her story will encourage other women to take the leap: start the business they’ve been dreaming of, make a bold move, or expand a current venture. “Having faith in my talents led me to entrepreneurship,” she shares. “It allowed me to work hard doing what I love and have the freedom and flexibility to be there for my kids.”

LIFEHOUSE
A Home for Life

Since 1954, Lifehouse has built an extraordinary legacy of service and advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For more than seven decades, the organization has championed person-centered support in the Bay Area, helping shape a national model while advancing dignity, belonging, and the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to live a full life.
In 2019, visionary nonprofit leaders Nancy Dow Moody, President & CEO and Ann Elias, Chief Development Officer, set out to bring a bold idea to life: a permanent “Home for Life.”
Together, they launched a capital campaign to secure a lasting headquarters for the respected organization.
Over the previous 35 years, Lifehouse had relocated five times as rents continued to climb. Moody and Elias recognized that a permanent home would not only provide stability, but would reflect Lifehouse’s rightful place as a pillar of the community.
With determination and inspiring leadership, the campaign raised $6 million over seven years, navigating the unprecedented challenges of the global pandemic. Renovations were led by architect and Lifehouse parent Erin Uesugi, with furnishings generously donated by Wells Fargo.
In March 2026, the campaign reached its inspiring conclusion with a final philanthropic gift from Maryann Pierce. In her memory, the new headquarters will be named, The Pierce Building, securing a permanent home for Lifehouse within the community it serves.

MELISSA PRANDI
A Life of Purpose in Action

NORTH BAY CHILDREN’S CENTER
Nourishing Healthy. Bodies & Curious Minds

Meet the inspiring women behind North Bay Children’s Center’s (NBCC’s) Garden of Eatin’® — a team of passionate educators cultivating curiosity, confidence, and healthy futures for thousands of children each year. Rooted in Marin County and growing across the country, these leaders bring to life an innovative nutrition and environmental curriculum that helps children and families thrive during the most critical years of development.
More than twenty years ago, NBCC helped pioneer the integration of nutrition and environmental education into early childhood learning. Today, Garden of Eatin’® is more than a garden — it is a dynamic Garden, Food, and Nature Education ecosystem where children plant, water, nurture, harvest, prepare, and enjoy the fresh fruits and vegetables they grow. By bridging the natural world and the classroom, it serves as a true “living laboratory,” grounded in a STEAM-based approach to discovery.
This dedicated team guides children in building “Green Muscle Memory” through hands-on experiences like composting, cooking, and harvesting. Their impact extends beyond the classroom through family cook nights and weekly produce distributions that nourish and connect families.
Recognized in 2025 with a California Department of Education STEAM grant, the program continues to expand — bringing training, coaching, and inspiration to educators statewide.

PAX AGRICULTURA
Peace Through Agriculture

As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, Heidi Kuhn, World Food Prize Laureate, and David Haydon, owner of Il Davide’s Restaurant, are joining forces to honor the rich agricultural heritage of Marin County — whose bounty has long contributed to peaceful endeavors around the world. From the towering redwoods of Muir Woods, where early United Nations delegates once gathered, this collaboration reflects a shared belief that ‘soil and soul’ are deeply intertwined, and our respect for the land is beautifully exemplified by the white rose.
PAX AGRICULTURA — Peace Through Agriculture, derived from Latin — one of the world’s oldest languages — calls us back to timeless principles of stewardship, cooperation, and care for the earth. Building upon Heidi Kuhn’s vision to plant “Global Gardens for Food Security” as Founder of Roots of Peace; recipient of the Mother Teresa Award for Social Justice and the Gandhi Global Family Seva Award, this initiative is far more than a name — it is a global call to action. In a world where conflicts over land, resources, and survival are escalating, agriculture offers a universal pathway to reconciliation, stability, and hope. By empowering communities to grow their own food, restore degraded land, and work in harmony with nature, we plant not only seeds of sustenance, but seeds of peace — demonstrating that by healing the earth, we can also heal humanity.

They guided me with warmth, insight, and patience — spending countless hours helping me explore communities, understand the nuances of each area, and ultimately discover what I truly wanted.
There was never any pressure, only a shared commitment to finding the right home. Together, we found a beautiful property that perfectly fits my family’s needs.
