Many of your favorite fashion and beauty brands have already stepped up and are donating profits, time and even product to charities and healthcare workers on the front line. And most are offering discounts to shoppers as well. It's the perfect time to show your support for the brands who are giving back during coronavirus. Here are some of the companies who are acting most generously. Allbirds Wool Runners, $95 San Francisco-based sneaker company Allbirds is donating a pair of Tuke Matcha Wool Runners to healthcare workers on the frontline. In a statement on Instagram the company said, “To our US healthcare community — we want to thank you for being on the front lines and helping keeping our communities healthy. We appreciate and admire everything you are doing.” Healthcare workers should email together@allbirds.com for their free pair (while supplies last). Order your own stylish pair and support the brand that is supporting our healthcare workers! Kendra Scott Everlyne Blue Cord Friendship Bracelet In Abalone Shell, $40 Much-loved jewelry brand Kendra Scott is also stepping up and giving back. Right now, the brand is donating 50% of all proceeds from the Everlyn Bracelets to Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund, which supports local food banks that feed children who normally rely on National School Lunch Programs. Kendra Scott will also be donating 500,000 meals to get the campaign underway. Pacific Shaving Company Premium 6-Blade Razer System, $16.99 As part of its #ShaveForGood campaign, Pacific Shaving Company, known for its all-natural, vegan cruelty-free products, is donating 100% of online sales to the CDC Foundation until March 31, 2020. It’s the perfect time to buy an early Father’s Day present—and for a good cause. GrandeMASCARA Conditioning Peptide Mascara, $25 A favorite of beauty influencers and editors, Grande Cosmetics is giving online shoppers 15% off every purchase in addition to donating 15% of sales to Feeding America. CEO Alicia Grande says, “My personal belief is that no one should go hungry despite the current crisis. This is why we believe Feeding America is the perfect charity for Grande to support. Let’s help to feed America together.” Farmacy THE BEEHIVE the glow maker kit, originally $40, on sale for $28 Indie beauty brand, Farmacy, will be donating 10,000 meals a day to Feeding America's COVID-19 Response Fund for the next 30 days. In addition to that, for each outside donation made to this fund, Farmacy will match the contribution. Great opportunity to support a brand that is supporting others! Casetify UV Sanitizer Case, $120 Casetify, the smartphone accessory company, is releasing its new UV Sanitizer Case ahead of schedule and donating 100% of the proceeds to Global Giving’s Coronavirus Relief Fund. The UV Sanitizer kills more than 99.9% of germs on phone, but the company says this, “Please be aware that this product is not proven to kill coronavirus. The UV Sanitizer kills 99.9% of germs, but we do not currently have a way to test its effectiveness against COVID-19 yet.” Popsockets,$15 In an effort to support Doctors Without Borders and Feeding America, Popsockets has just launched two newly designed PopGrips as part of their Popvism campaign and the company will donate 100% of the profits to the respective charities. Just another incredibly generous way that businesses are supporting those providing critical services during the pandemic. And if you are looking to donate used beauty supplies, be sure and read this feature Where to Donate Unwanted or Unused Beauty Products to Women in Need. Which brands are you supporting right now? Tag us on social! This article originally appeared on Better.net. Casey Gillespie is the editor-in-chief of SPACES magazine, but she doesn’t only write about design. Fashion, beauty, art, culture, luxury and wellness are favorite topics as well. Her work has been featured in Elle, The Telegraph, Furthermore, London Evening Standard, Haute Living, Sphere, Belmond, Modern Luxury and more. And when she is not pounding it out on the keyboard, you’ll find her hiking the trails in Marin County with her husband and French bulldog, Henry, or drinking wine and eating cheese. But probably drinking wine and eating cheese.

Nataliya Anon immigrated to the U.S. from Western Nataliya Anon immigrated to the U.S. from Western Ukraine 30 years ago, as a college student. Now the Tiburon resident, a mother of young children and the founder and CEO of Svitla Systems — a global software development company based in Corte Madera — devotes much of her energy to Hromada, the nonprofit she cofounded in 2017 to support the people of her homeland. Over the past year, as Ukrainians fight a war with Russia, Hromada’s mission has gained urgency. We sat down with Anon to hear about her background and her commitment to supporting the people of Ukraine. ✍️: @fullbloomday — Link in bio for details 🇺🇦
🚨flashback friday!!🚨 Nearly 102 years ago, M 🚨flashback friday!!🚨 Nearly 102 years ago, Marin County received a Christmas Day blast that shrouded Mount Tamalpais in white and left the City of Belvedere with battered-down homes and fences. In the above photo, taken in late December 1921, Mount Tam is wearing a white shawl while overlooking the damage. The thin strip of land barely above water in the background is today’s San Rafael Avenue; and the road in the foreground is Beach Road. The two-story buildings at the far right and far left not only survived the storm, but are both still standing today. So why does this area look so different now?

Well, for the next 20 or so years the area depicted in the 1921 photo remained dominated by that large bay. Then in the early 1940s, according to Pictorial History of Belvedere, “Developer Harry Allen, owner of the Belvedere Land Company, got the grand idea to fill in most of that bay and create fingers of land where waterfront homes could be built.” Today the completed project includes 234 homes that are priced into the many millions of dollars and are scenically surrounded by acres of placid water.

However, following World War II, when Allen first started asking $5,000 for a lagoon-front lot, there was considerable sales resistance. Again, according to Pictorial History of Belvedere, many a lookie-loo would leave Allen’s sales office muttering, “Who’d ever want to live in a mudflat?”
