February 27 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$10

The Marin History Museum presents their second lecture featuring Jeff Burkhart along with the premier of the award-winning short film, “Testing 1,2,3”. This special event will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 7:00pm at the Elks Lodge located at 1312 Mission Avenue in downtown San Rafael.

Join Jeff Burkhart for an evening of stories about cocktails and cocktails from his stories, both delivered as only the Barfly can, with wit and professionalism. The evening will include three stories from his books and columns, and two cocktail demonstrations. As an added bonus, the award-winning short film, “Testing 1,2,3,” will be premiered. Directed by Robin Lee and based on a story from Jeff’s first book, “Testing” won “Best Comedy Short” in six Film Festivals: San Jose, Amsterdam, Santa Barbara, Silk Road (Cannes), Houston and New York. This will be the film’s first presentation to the public at-large. Questions & Answers will follow the presentation.

Jeff Burkhart is both an award-winning journalist and an award-winning bartender. His popular Barfly column in the Marin IJ was voted best column in California in both 2014 and 2021, and he has been voted “best bartender” seven times. His two books, Twenty Years Behind Bars: the spirited adventures of a real bartender, and its sequel, Twenty Years Behind Bars: parole denied, are both best-sellers. He also hosts the popular Barfly Podcast on iTunes.
