Back in 1994, 15-year-old Aaliyah’s debut album Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number was released. The album along with its titular track flooded airwaves and though it is laden with not-so-subtle overtones of a relationship with noted creep R.Kelly, I choose to ignore that for the most part and focus on how the song applies to other aspects of life. For instance, I don’t feel too old to wear skorts and go to waterparks — Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number. It’s a shame that A.A.N.B.A.N isn’t a catchier acronym like C.R.E.A.M, oh well.
But there’s another A.A.N.B.A.N (going with it) seasonal pastime coming up, the annual Nicasio Valley Farms Pumpkin Patch. The event offers certified organic pumpkins as well as attractions including hay rides, farm animals, pony rides, a bounce house and giant inflatable slide, a farm stand, Big Jim’s award-winning BBQ and ice cream for sale on Sundays, live music and more. Stop by on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for butter and hard cider making tutorials courtesy of MALT — the organizers also promise lots of new surprises this season, come by and check them out, bounce around, take a slide and pet some farm animals. And remember, A.A.N.B.A.N.
If You Go:
When: Friday, October 27 through Halloween from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: 5300 Nicasio Valley Road
