Enjoy the San Rafael Parade of Lights this Weekend

Now in its 35th year, this seasonal event boasts a Holiday Marketplace, children’s activities, free snow sledding, live entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus himself. One of the largest holiday parades in the Bay Area, people come from all over to enjoy the free festivities.

The event starts at noon on Friday, November 28 with free snow sledding, kids’ activities and shopping at the Holiday Marketplace. The sledding is held from 12-4:30 p.m. and again at 6-8 p.m. The Marketplace is open from 12-8 p.m.  The Parade begins at 5:30 p.m. on Fourth Street.

After the parade, everyone joins the Mayor of San Rafael, a bevy of costumed characters and Santa and Ms. Claus in the town center in City Plaza to witness the lighting of the Holiday Tree. You won’t want to miss this family-friendly event with something for everyone.

On Saturday, November 29, the snow sledding and kids’ activities run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
