Their motto is simple: if they wouldn’t trust a product with their own pet, they won’t sell it to you. On Wednesdays, it offers puppy training taught by expert trainer Mike Wombacher — if you’re interested, be sure to register in advance. If you’re looking for a kitty, Woodlands also has options, as they partner with an animal rescue program to provide in-store cat adoptions. Looking for quick care for your pet? Look no further, as they have a dental cleaning service and a vaccination clinic. Hours are 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Brownie’s Pet Boutique

A newer shop entering the pet store scene, Brownie’s is a woman-owned center of Marin’s cat and dog culture. Named after the owner’s pug, Brownie, the establishment provides a warm atmosphere in a gray house that’s almost as adorable as your pet. For a space smaller than your standard chain store, it’s unbelievable how wide a selection of items mostly made in the United States. Hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday.
