Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is a premiere destination for many Bay Area families because of the opportunities available to its student-athletes. SHC offers a sports experience for the most competitive athletes and individuals just starting in sports. With over 58 teams in 24 sports, students can excel in many sports including football, flag football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer, track & field and cross country. Student-athletes also have an opportunity to compete in arguably the most competitive and most visible high school league in California, the West Catholic Athletic League, which is a must-watch league for NCAA college recruiters and professional scouts.

When student-athletes don the SHC green, white and blue, they join a storied tradition of excellence. Since 1987, the Irish have captured 24 league titles, 48 Central Coast Section Titles, 20 NorCal Titles, eight State Team titles and two State Individual Titles. And that success is supported by the resources available to its student-athletes. A state-of-the-art Athletic Performance Center for training, weight lifting and nutrition guidance, a cutting-edge sports medicine department and professionally-trained coaches, strength and conditioning professionals, and athletic trainers ensure that all SHC athletes perform at their highest level.
