What are you wearing? A fitted shirt by IMG, clam diggers by Blue Dot, a belt from Allie*g, shoes from Shoe Envy, earrings and necklace set from a vendor at the San Rafael farmers’ market, and hidden lingerie from Pleasures of the Heart.
Where would you wear this outfit? Planes, trains and automobiles, casual yet sophisticated restaurants, but not at a funky Burning Man party!
How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? That depends on what I have done the night before. It can take from
fifteen minutes to an hour and a half.
Describe your personal style. Natural, clean with a flair for the artistic, and a penchant for fuzzy faux leopard skin!
Who are your fashion influences? People around me, whether it is a subtle combination of gold eyeshadow and jewelry or someone who is daring with their matching red hair and go-go boots.
Favorite designers? I am not very focused on fashion magazines or trends and the hottest designers. But I do enjoy designers who incorporate subtle ethnic styles with romantic and contemporary themes.
Where do you love to shop in Marin? Allie*g, Columbine, Shoe Envy, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and freshwater fish stores for my aquarium, such as Pet Club.
What is always in your bag/pockets? Cell phone, wallet, client purchase receipts, mirror and makeup, pocket knife, old movie stubs, my boyfriend’s lost motorcycle keys (oops!), eyedrops, gum, digital camera, pen and notebook, Chapstick, calculator.
What is the single most essential piece in your wardrobe? My motorcycle leathers—I feel very safe in them, whether I’m on a track or riding the back roads of Marin with friends and cohorts in the Montgomery Street Motorcycle Club.
Where do you like to eat in Marin? Lotus of India on Fourth street and their new cafe in Fairfax. Orchid Thai and Taco Jane’s in San Anselmo, Sushi Ran in Sausalito, and E&O Trading Company in Larkspur.
What do you splurge on? Rich salty foods like potato chips, shoes, motorcycle track days and plants for my garden.
What is your best cheapo secret? I find cute and functional work clothes at Marshall’s and fun yet inexpensive clothes at Maryannes on Fourth Street.
What’s your fashion pet peeve? Pants with such low waistlines that they expose one’s posterior anatomy—i.e., “plumber’s bum”! Yuck!
What’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought? Besides my home it would be my two new motorcycles—a Triumph 955 and a racy new Yamaha R6.
Did it make you happy? I am so happy with my home and the sanctuary of my garden, and I am ecstatic with my two new motorcycles. They provide me with a sense of freedom and excitement that is unbeatable!
