The Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival, a two-day experience that brings the community together to experience art, music, outdoor theater performances and more amongst towering redwood trees, took place September 23 and 24.
Each year, approximately 135 local and international artists are selected by a qualified jury to participate, including painters, jewelers, sculptors, fabric artists, photographers, woodworkers and more.
In addition to all the great art to peruse, there is a children’s grove with performances and opportunities for kids to get their hands into art projects.
For more than 60 years, the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival has been a mainstay in the town of Mill Valley. It originated in 1957, when a small group of artists exhibited their works in downtown store windows. From there, it grew into a full fledged festival, first held in Lytton Square until it moved to its current home: the glorious redwood grove in Old Mill Park.
