After years of back-and-forth, the Marin County Board of Supervisors unanimously agreed on a mandate that allows up to four medical cannabis dispensaries in the county. The law sets up rules and guidelines for patient cooperatives and details the conditions they would need to meet to fulfill the medical needs of local patients. Community Development Agency Assistant Director Tom Lai will work on an implementation program, which would include a fee schedule and criteria for dispensaries to be legally approved. When criteria are submitted to the board, applications could be accepted as soon as late spring 2016, with licenses issued by summer 2016.
