Run off your turkey dinner in advance on Thanksgiving Day at the Marin Turkey Trot, which winds along Novato’s Ignacio Blvd before finishing at College of Marin’s Indian Valley campus. Race proceeds benefit School Fuel, Novato’s education foundation.

The Agricultural Institute of Marin again hosts its Gather for the Planet fundraiser to enhance regional food systems. Guests can expect a farm-forward tasting menu based on recipes curated by several Bay Area notable chefs. Through its nine Bay Area farmers markets and other community programs, the nonprofit has supported more than 350 farmers and locally produced food for over 40 years. Save Sight Now — a Marin nonprofit focused on finding a treatment or cure hosts an annual gala to raise funds for medical research to combat the impact of Usher syndrome type 1B, which has affected hundreds of children all over the world.

This annual benefit concert provides funding for Glide’s myriad programs.

In November, the Tiburon Peninsula Chamber of Commerce embarks on its Tiburon Gives Back program to support the SF-Marin Food Bank. Expect a festive launch party and many area businesses promoting give-back incentives and donations.
