Ceres Marin Spring Jam Benefit

Come to the Spring FUNdraiser and support Ceres’ goal of delivering 17,000 meals to Marin residents in need this year. Their inventive methods, which include training young volunteers to make food and deliver food to those dealing with debilitating illnesses, have caught the attention of community groups nationwide. At Ceres, teenage chef and gardener volunteers get hands-on experience with growing and preparing healthy foods, effectively setting them up with lifelong skills that go beyond cooking. Engagement is not only encouraged, but required with two teens act as voting members on the board of directors where they help decide on the organization’s planning.

Tickets to the event include healthy appetizers, beverages, and a cash bar. There will also be a silent auction that features lunch for two with Congressman Jared Huffman, cookbooks by noted author Rebecca Katz, ACT theater tickets, Angel Island Segway tours, and a variety of premium wines. Entertainment will be provided by Bay Area country band, Buck Nickels & Loose Change, with line dancing lessons from the Kick’n Country Girls. The San Marin Jam Band, led by one of Ceres’ teen chefs, will also perform. All proceeds from the event will benefit Ceres’ meal delivery program.
