What is WildCare? Founded in 1974, the San Rafael wildlife hospital treats over 3,000 sick and injured animals each year, and helps Marin residents learn to properly coexist with the variety of species that reside in our backyards — for those who grew up in Marin, you may know WildCare as the result of a merger between The Terwilliger Nature Education Center and The California Center for Wildlife.
Get to Know Wildcare at this unique family event, which begins with a hike in San Rafael’s Gerstle Park — home to red-shouldered hawks and dusky-footed woodrats — and is followed by a tour of WildCare, where visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the facility first-hand, and meet the ambassador animals that live on the campus.
